Clock going negative?

I'm playing a game with two others (https://www.boardgamers.space/game/Brown-rule-3701)
One player got dropped for inactivity. And then, another player's time has run out, but he is not dropped, with his clock going negative. Is this normal? What will happen to this game? I'm worried that I might get dropped for inactivity and lose karma if I don't pay attention to this stuck game.
