Welcome to the First Eastern Hemisphere Gaia Tournament (unofficial)  - fast turn-based games (each game for maximum one or two weeks) including time zones from Portugal to Korea.

      Let's try to do it!

The tournament is unofficial - it's just fun!
It's a small Cup! - because it has to run well.
We need a minimum 8 players (two groups), or... 16 (four groups).

The system I offer here has already been tested on this website and has proven to be successful: it eliminates auctions and at the same time no player is the only one to get the "worse" faction.

Apart from the desire to have fun we need discipline. If you want to play with us and if you meet the following criteria:

      • your 'karma' is over 80 and you don't give up games!!!

      • you don't ignore the chat and communication

      • you prefer only fast turn-based games (minimum 5-10 moves per day) in the hours:
        7:00 - 15:00 o'clock (Lisbon - London time zone)
        8:00 - 16:00 (Madrit - Warsaw)
        9:00 - 17:00 (Kiev)
        10:00 - 18:00 (Moscow)
or you're from Korea and play in the evenings: 6:00 p.m. - 2:00 a.m. (Seoul)

You are welcome to join fast turn-based games, each should take max one or two weeks, not more, I hope!
The timer will run during these hours (see above!)
Time per player per game: 1 day
Additional time per move: 2 hours
Or: 3 days + 1 hour (please vote, comment)
What does it mean? In practice each game between 2 and even 14 days.

How many games do you need to play? Four. And if you get to the final, the next four.

      TOURNAMENT RULES:

      • If there are 8 players - we choose randomly the composition of each of the two groups (4 players) or we choose based on elo.

      • in each group one player is a guardian (starts a new game and takes care of communication)

      • After the start of the first game - everyone chooses the faction they want to play. Then, during the auction, he chooses his faction again (bid 0)

      • After the start of the second game WITH THE SAME MAP & SEED (settings: 'custom seed', no rotation) :
Player 1 - must choose the same faction that has already been chosen by player number 1 (in the previous game)
Player 2 - must choose the same faction that has already been chosen by player number 2 (in the previous game)
        Player 3 - etc.
        Player 4 - etc.
Then the players choose (bid 0) a faction they haven't played yet.

This means that each player will play 4 times on the exact same map (the same seed) in turn with each of the 4 factions (selected in the first game).

Each group has its own seed. After four games we sum up the points. The top two players from each of the two groups advance to the final

As the platform only offers a random order of players - we need auctions to manage the correct order of players.

        How does it work?
        EXAMPLE:

In the first group, they met and chose the factions they would like to play:

        1. GAME 1
          Tom - player 1 - Gleens (bid 0)
          Daniel - player 2 - Firaks (bid 0)
          Slawek - player 3 - Lantids (bid 0)
          Robert - player 4 - Ivits (bid 0)

from now on, each of the four games have the same faction order!
        P 1 - Gleens
        P 2 - Firaks
        P 3 - Lantids
        P 4 - Ivits

They finished the first game after a few days with the results:
Tom 100 vp, Daniel 120, Slawek 140, Robert 160 vp

Next one of them has to start a new game using the same settings (timer, unlisted, etc...) entering the same seed (!!!), send it to the other three players (we need to exchange e-mails! or communications here using private messages). All four should join to the second match (of the four games)

        random players order, for example:
        2. GAME 2
Tom (he is again first) - player 1
        Robert - player 2
Slawek (he is again third)  - player 3
        Daniel - player 4

        In this case:
player 1 - Gleens (Tom MUST choose Gleens again)
player 2 - Firaks (Robert MUST choose Firaks)
player 3 - Lantids (Slawek MUST choose Lantids again)
player 4 - Ivits (Daniel MUST choose Ivits)

Of course Tom and Slawek can't play one more time using the same factions. They must choose - using bidding "0" - another faction!

        Finally GAME 2 is,
        for example:
        P 1 - Gleens - Daniel (bid 0)
        P 2 - Firaks - Slawek (bid 0)
        P 3 - Lantids - Robert (bid 0)
        P 4 - Ivits - Tom (bid 0)

        VP of the second game:
        Tom 200, Daniel 120, Slawek 140, Robert 120 vp

        Total points after 2 matches:
        Tom - 300 vp (100 + 200)
        Daniel - 240 vp (120 + 120)
        Slawek - 280 vp (140 + 140)
        Robert - 280 vp (160 + 120)

Who wins in the group? The two players with the highest total points after four games.

They go to the final (2 best players from each group). In the second phase, the points count from zero again. Whoever scores the most points in the final wins the tournament.

            Auction on each game?

              @PodonokMax

Auction in every game, but always with zero.
Each game each player has no negative points (bid 0). But the 'auction' must remain in order for each of the 4 games to copy the order of the factions selected in the first game.

              Additionally:

              • you can be inactive in the game, for example all day. The game will not be lost (the above timer allows it). But just 2 days of total inactivity will eliminate player from the game.
                If timer is too short:
We can set: a timer of 3 days per player, which will allow for longer pauses, but also can slow down the tournament.

              • if someone will resign, drop out one game (because of legendary misclick or anything) he abandons the whole tournament, it will be a great pity! And disrespect for the other players.
In this case, he will be included in the 'game tabel' as the one who quit the game. The other 3 players will have to finish their matches without him or find someone to replace.

@ariallito For example. I'm second player (look your example), i played by firaks on 1st game. Can I choose firaks for decline his points on 2nd game? But I want! And what will happen on 4th game? Nobody can use auction?

                  @PodonokMax
In the example above, if you were to be again as second player: you would have to select Firaks (because: Player 2 - Firaks). But you wouldn't be able to play this faction (because you've already played Firaks), you would have to bid (only for zero) to choose another faction that you haven't played yet.

'Can I choose firaks for decline his points on 2nd game?'
No. We play without losing points.

'what will happen on 4th game? Nobody can use auction?'
Everyone must use auction (bidding for 0), only for copy the correct factions order.

                      @PodonokMax

                      As you want.
We need just a 8 players to start (as two groups).
At this moment we have (probably) four or six players.

                      Game names, for example:
                      Euro-Asia-Cup-Group-A
                      (...) Group-B

                      And next:

                      • Unlucky scenario:
Assuming that one game will last 2 weeks max:
4 group matches will last a maximum of 2 months
the whole tournament max 4 months! (I hope not, but it's possible)

                      • Good scenario:
If each game lasts 1 week or less,
the whole tournament will last 1 or max 2 months.

That's why we need players who make a minimum of 5-10 moves per day (or more!)

                                        Dear Gentlemen!

                                        Thanks for joining! Good choice!
The rules are clear? If not - just ask.

Probably everyone lives in Europe, so the games will be named: Euro-CUP-group-A (...and group B).

After start - zero pressure - please do your move when you want. I hope minimum 4-10 moves per day,
But we have a timer: 3 days per player + 1 hr (because sometimes someone needs a day of break).
Each game for a maximum two weeks , I hope.

Remember - it's just fun! On the other hand - I Tournament will be difficult, because 5 of 8 players have 'elo' around 300 or over 400 ! Damn! :)

Lucasrrr was the last to join, I don't know him well (we played 2 or 3 times 2 months ago) so I am asking him to complete the line-up of both groups. So lucasrrr, below is the result of my lottery, I am asking you to complete the composition to the groups (if you do not do it - tomorrow I will ask the next person about it). Please put four of players (with the highest elo) in groups (please post below) :

                                        PodonokMax
                                        Babbuc49
                                        Wy
                                        lucasrrr
(these four players have the highest elo)

Two to group A and two to B:

                                        1. Euro-CUP-group-A

                                        • ?
                                        • ?

                                        • bardopondo

                                        2. Euro-CUP-group-B

                                        • ?
                                        • ?
                                        • Pyton
                                        • ariallito

                                        What next?

I will send a link to the games here (using private messages). After the first game - one of the player in group will put new link to the second game there (using chat window)

Pyton will create and share on-line table (eng.) - thanks!

Please notice - mistakes happen! If someone (starting from the second game) mistakes the order, chooses the factions incorrectly, bids for more than 0 - don't worry! but in this case the group has to create a game-table again.

Ok, we wait for the list of both groups. After that I will create game-tables and send to all.

I will send the link to games today in the afternoon or evening.
