      Hey everyone.

Just joined this server and it seems great! The interface is amazing and it would definetly be my prefered way of playing GP online.

Though my small caveat is with finding players for real-time games as i feel the 'sessions' or turn-based games take too much of my time and focus. I'm looking for games that can be played in one sitting of the usual playing time 3-4 hours (might even be quicker with all the automation in here), however there does not seem to be a way of 'pinging' or notifying people that you're looking for a real-time session.

Are there any plans down the line of assisting players to find real-time games? How do people approach finding real-time games in here? Furthermore, are people on this server even looking for real-time games, or are most happy with the turn based games which seems to be the case with the majority of games in here.

I think in this site there are many people coming from the same gaming group or who know each other in real life that set up their live games privately otherwise it's mostly turn based.
I made an attempt at using the game section of this forum to try and set up a live game but i got no reply... so i don't know how many are interested in doing that but it would be cool if all those who are interested would organise together.
Also there has been a discussion on this forum about live game timer settings so i'm guessing there must be some people who are intersted.
and btw i'd say a live game here takes definetely less than 4h

Yeah with all the automation even 2-3 hours for a 4 player game might even be possible... I'd really love to be able to get in a game of gaia in that amount of time!

Seeing as many people who play live games here organize it privately, would there be any interest (both from players and owners of this site) in outsourcing the communication of looking for live games somewhere else for everyone on the server to join (such as a Discord server)? I'm aware there is the forums on this server but it seems like it is not the most viable approach since a) people don't check forums often enough and b) there is no notification/pinging.

To my mind, both the name of the game and the setting of the game is quite indicative for a hosted real-time game. People should ration themselves consciously to these games based on personal preferences and availability respecting the purpose of the hosted game, but apparently this is hardly the case, because they tend to be ruined by some players that don't pay attention to the games they are about to join.

Actually the name and duration of the game does not work that good because if someone has a 3 hour window to play a game it is almost impossible to find on the site enough people that join immediately. Whereas on the discord server it’s possible to like ask in advance if there are people available to play a certain day at a certain hour and organise to set up the game

@baldoo You're quite right about this. I think most players in here have had a bad experience in trying to host a live game (including myself). It's hard to find people who are commited to a live game when the platform does not fully support it yet. Some changes would need to be made. Probably the most important one is not auto-starting the game when a room is full. Instead make every player check a checkbox once the room is full to indiciate everyone is ready for a live game. Even then, it's still difficult due to the simple fact there are not that many players on here yet. So even finding the players would take some time in itself.

The most efficient way right now is to organize it directly with the players. There is place for it in the forums, but it's not very active or even a good platform for arranging live games. As @Babbuc49 mentioned discord is more suited. If anyone wants to join here the link to my discord server:
